Split bills without downloading an app

Everyone opens the same link, enters a name and adds what they paid.

Start a split

No email, no password, no download.

You can split a bill in Peanut Split through your browser. Create a room, share its link and enter the expenses. Everyone can see their share without making an account.

For one dinner, you may only need a calculator and a message with the amount. A shared room is useful when several people paid for different things or when more expenses will follow.

Set up a shared expense list

  1. Create the room

    Give it a name your group will recognise and choose the currency for the totals.

  2. Share the link

    Put it in the group chat and pin it. Each person opens it and enters their name.

  3. Add the bill

    Enter the amount, who paid and who shares it. Check the list before adding something another person may already have entered.

Keep the room link

Anyone with the link can open the room and add to it. Share it only with people you want in the room, and remember that they can forward it.

Your device remembers rooms you have opened. If you switch devices, you need the link again. There is no password recovery, so keeping a copy in the group chat gives you another way back.

Pay each other back

As expenses accumulate, Split works out each person's balance and suggests a short payment plan. That can reduce the number of separate repayments you need to make.

Pay by cash, bank transfer or another method you both use. Then record the payment in the room. Split does not move money or check whether a bank transfer went through; a recorded payment means someone said they paid.

Can I use Split without an account?

Can someone else forward our room link?
Yes. Anyone who receives it can open the room and add expenses. Treat the link as access to the shared list.
What if everyone loses the link?
Check recent rooms on a device that has opened it, or look for the link in your messages. If nobody has the link or a saved room, there is no account recovery to retrieve it.
