Choose the room currency

Decide how to handle personal meals, alcohol and transport used by only some people. Add each expense with the people who are sharing it.
Record the original amount
If a receipt says 3,200 baht, enter 3,200 baht. Keeping the original amount makes it easier to check later. See splitting expenses in different currencies for card fees and conversion choices.
Add expenses while the details are available. Before leaving, ask everyone to check for missing bookings, cash purchases and duplicate entries.
Agree how to pay across borders
Check that the recipient can receive the currency you plan to send. Look at any transfer fee and agree who covers it before paying.
Cash can work while you are together. A bank transfer or payment service may be more convenient after the trip, but both people need to be able to use it. A payment link still has supported countries and payment methods; check these before relying on it.
Split offsets each person's spending against what they owe. The suggested recipient may therefore be someone who did not pay for your meal directly. The explanation of simplified debts shows why.
Record each repayment after making it. Split does not move money or verify a bank payment, so check with the recipient if a transfer has not arrived.
