Set up the trip

  1. Create a room

    Name it after the trip and choose the currency you want to use for balances.

  2. Share the link

    Send it to the group. Each person enters a name to join. Keep the link pinned so you can open the room again.

  3. Add shared expenses

    Record accommodation, food and transport under the person who paid. Select the people who shared each cost.

If you prefer a spreadsheet

Use columns for the date, description, amount, currency, payer and each person's share. Each person's balance is what they paid minus what they owe for their share.

A spreadsheet gives you control over formulas and extra columns. It works well if someone is happy to maintain it. Split is useful when several people want to enter their own expenses from their phones.
